INTEGRATION STRATEGY FOR CORK - 2008 -2011
All this work culminated with the launch of the Strategy by the Integration Minister Conor Lenihan on the 25th of April. The Strategy is the first of its kind in the country. While a number of Anti Racism Strategies have been published this is the first to place a positive emphasis on the need for Integration. Very early in the planning process a deliberate decision was taken by the project’s steering group to produce a brief and practical document. The strategy is just that – it contains over forty actions to be achieved within a specified timeframe and identifies statutory and voluntary groups, including Cois Tine who are to take the lead in ensuring these actions take place. The Strategy also has a mechanism for monitoring and reviewing implementation.
